I’m not talking about Quebec , I’m talking about the Provincial Nominations programs.

Yes, many provinces and territories have special programs to attract immigrants. Let’s explore these options a bit to encourage you to investigate further.

The information you will see has been taken from the official Canadian and provincial government sites. They provide it completely free of charge, designed for you to do the migratory processes on your own.

What is “PNP”?

It is the acronym for Provincial Nominee Program .

It is the program that a Canadian province or territory has to get new residents.

Its objective is to attract qualified personnel who can prosper the region’s economy (professionals, specialized workers, investors). It is important that applicants demonstrate their intention to live in that province.

Provincial Nomination programs operate in almost all provinces or territories, except Quebec, as this province operates its own system.

Each province has its own entry requirements, different from those of another province or territory.

Is PNP the same as the process called “Express Entry”?

No, but there are some related programs. Let’s first define our starting point and then we’ll see that.

• Express Entry (Express Entry) = Federal Process (Government of the country -Canada-).

The way Express Entry + PNP are combined

Basic PNP Programs – Not related to “Express Entry”

Within their Provincial Nominations program, each province manages different subprograms or “streams”, immigration flows with certain characteristics. Normal processes for Provincial Nomination are on paper, and the person performs them directly with the province.

Extended PNP Programs – These are the ones that work with the “Express Entry”

They are a subprogram of provincial nominations that is coupled with that of the Express Entry electronic system. (You choose the province, or they choose you from the province).

Provincial Nominations: How can I learn more?

That it be worth repeating. Everything that has to do with immigration in Canada, the rules, laws, needs and requirements change over time, and sometimes relatively quickly.

• What they demanded of a person who immigrated 5 years ago is not necessarily the same thing they could demand of you if you started today.
• What they demand of someone for Province X may not be the same as for Territory Y.

Emigrate without having a job offer

If you explored the sites I linked to above, you may have noticed that, in most cases, the way to emigrate as a “skilled worker” is if a company from that province or territory has offered you work , and there is a signed contract.

Thinking about it, I went ahead and made you part of the task, finding you some options that would be worth looking at.

Saskatchewan Province: Look at the Demand Professions, Demand Occupations and Express Entry options.

Manitoba Province:   Apart from having some options where it is not necessary to have a job offer, take a look at something notorious: they offer seasonal visas temporarily for interested people to make exploratory visits.

Nova Scotia Province: Seasonally offers Provincial Nominations without requiring an employment contract. The options that combine Provincial Nomination with Express Entry could be flexible for this.
